Maggi’s hot mess- What it will take to clean it up?

Given the furor that Maggi generated over the past few months for it's mothership-Nestle`, it was almost pitiful to see a small space in the media regarding the huge decision of change in CEO for Nestle India, as damage control.... In this world of citizen journalism news goes viral in a flash, ..... It’s not just Maggi which has come under the radar, there are many a mighty brands which, despite adhering to the guidelines,... The important lessons Maggi can take away in this time of crisis are- Acceptance/Sincere Apology- it is very important to sincerely apologize. The consumers have had a loyalty towards the brand for eons. . ... Re-formulate/Rebrand- Nestle needs to re-formulate Maggi as per Indian standards and regulations, and replace them in the store. ... Build parallel credibility- What film may flop in one country may become a blockbuster hit in another. Maggi’s case is similar. ... Communication is the key- The only response to an image crisis should be transparency and accountability. If you do have something to hide then come clean with it. .. Online video ads and YouTube- Other unusual yet effective way is to stream videos of product test results, health benefits of their product on their website and then let customers draw their educated conclusions. ... Keeping at it- If you can’t win a debate where the public perception is against you, then you need to change the conversation. ... Digital Media ....!

Why Companies can do wonders hiring more Moms

still remember my first day of working at every work place. I was super excited, but I was also fraught with nerves, self-doubting my capabilities for the job assigned. Can I do it? Or will I make a fool of myself and end up being a non-entity in my organization? What will my colleagues think of me? Will I shine at my workplace or just be overshadowed into a corner? Or would I be reticent during the learning curve at work for fear of being judged? Well not surprisingly I went through the motion of all these fears and came out unscathed and as a more aware professional. And like any other new changes/challenges faced in life, motherhood too was a new, albeit the most exciting challenge till date. I don’t want to bore you with the nitty-gritty of parenting and mommyhood. But what it basically boils down to is this thought process- Motherhood taught me how to be in control during “un-controllable” situations. And I learnt fast and how.... Ten reasons to explore self-drive in India with family

“Once in a while it really hits people that they don’t have to experience the world in the way they have been told to.” – Alan Keightley This is what self-drive is all about. We have, in the past, been very monotonic and clichéd about planning our trips which usually involves traveling by buses, trains, planes and covering all the famous “tourist spots” as mentioned in travel books or as made famous historically, getting all our experiences through the eyes of the so called tour guides or by recommendations made in travel books. All this involved an elaborate process of “Plan a trip”, book rooms in hotels and resorts, buy costly holiday packages. ..... For the complete article please see Blogs @ Selfroadiez.com

Location guide for self-drive travelers- Kotagiri

Kotagiri is one of the well-kept hidden secrets of the Nilgiris and is one of the prominent hill stations besides Ooty and Cunoor. The name Kotagiri means the ‘Mountain of the Kotas’, it being the traditional home of the Kota tribes for eons. Kalasa is a small town situated in Western Ghats, which has been recognized by UNESCO as World Heritage place for its bio diversity. It is said that Western Ghats are older than the Himalayas. It is situated in close proximity to the birth place of 4 major rivers of Karnataka namely Tunga, Bhadra, Netravathi and Hemavathi. Bhadra River surrounds Kalasa from three sides. A bit of history The origin of Kalasa can be traced back to mythology. This place was ruled by Vijayanagara kings and later by Keladi rulers and also by Jain ruler Bhairava Arasa of Karkala. At his time Kalasa was the kingdom of Karkala hence you can see some Jain temples also in Kalasa. There are many shila shasanas at Kalasa temple to suggest this and all the writings in the stone are mentioned in epigraphy of Karnataka....
