Liverpool (Season 2016-17)

Five times European Champions are back, back where they belong. It’s been a season of tactical improvement for Liverpool under the German Manager Klopp, and one which should serve the team well going into a busy 2017/18 season. This Seasons Stats: Premier League: 4th FA Cup: Fourth Round EFL Cup: Semi-Final Games: 47 Won: 27 Lost: 09 Drawn: 11 Win %: 57.45% GF: 92 GA: 47 GD: +45 Premier League: Liverpool began the season with a visit to the Emirates Stadium and were able to snatch 4–3 victory over the Gunners. But the rest of the month was not that impressive, a loss to Burnley and a draw at Tottenham Hotspur. September started on a good note with a win over the defending champions Leicester City at Anfield and another over Chelsea away at Stamford Bridge. Liverpool made September a perfect month with three wins in a row in the league when they beat Hull City 5–1 in front of the Kop. Then came October and the Northwest Derby agains Manchester United, which ended in a 0–0 draw. Unbeaten in October, Liverpool entered November with confidence by beating the Hornets 6-1, this result put Liverpool on top of the Premier League for the first time since April 2014. On 4 December, the Reds travelled to the Vitality Stadium to face Bournemouth and took a 3-1 lead, but three goals from Bournemouth in the final 20 minutes of the match caused Liverpool to suffer a 4-3 defeat. Liverpool ended the year with a win over Everton in the Merseyside Derby and a crucial win over Manchester City at Anfield. Liverpool entered 2017 in second place, a dry and win-less January removed them from a height they are yet to return to. Just one week later, yhe Reds got their first Premier League win of 2017 with Mane's two goals in two minutes sealing the 2–0 win against Spurs which was followed by a defeat at Leicester City. By the start of March, Liverpool won yet another match against the top 6 teams, this time a 3–1 win at home to Arsenal. After beating the Gunners, the Reds won their next game at home against Burnley. On 19 March, Liverpool travelled to Manchester City for a crucial game in the battle for Champions League qualification which ended in a 1-1 draw. On 1st April, Liverpool defeated Everton in the Merseyside Derby at Anfield. Then a draw against Bournemouth and defeats against Stoke City and Crystal Palace put their Champions League qualification in doubt. Liverpool needed two wins in their last two games to guarantee a top four place which they did by beating West Ham United and Middlesbrough and ended the season with 76 points. American Football (NFL) in INDIA !!!

For the past 15 years or more with the broadcast of English Premier league on our sporting network, Football is gaining some popularity in India. Can American Football do the same impact on Indians as Football did? Will Indians ever follow NFL, the way they follow English Premier League? In 2016 Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI) finally brought one of the biggest professional sports leagues from North America – the National Football League (NFL) in India. The league is aired on Sony SIX, Sony SIX HD, Sony ESPN and Sony ESPN HD. Indian viewers are very flexible when it comes to sports and has developed craving for best sporting action around the world. These NFL games are aired early morning, same like NBA (National Basketball Association) and has given Indian viewers a more options in the breakfast viewing category. The NFL is one of the four major professional sports leagues in North America, and the highest professional level of American football in the world. It consists of 32 teams, divided equally between the National Football Conference (NFC) and the American Football Conference (AFC). Each regular season runs for a period of 17 weeks with each team playing 16 games and having one bye week. At the end of the regular season, six teams from each conference (four division winners and two wild card teams) advance to the playoffs that concludes with the Super Bowl, played between the champions of the NFC and AFC. American Football is an extremely physical sport with a lot of technicality. Though the players are fully guarded with different gears, during the game players crash into each other at a very high speeds, fighting and wrestling for superiority. American Football is a very complex sport with four quadrant, just like Basketball. It involves a game book with a lot of game plans in it and one needs to understand the basics to enjoy the beautiful game of American Football. Just like Ronaldo, Messi, Gerrard in Football; even in American Football there are idols whom fans worship. For example Tom Brady, a quarterback from New England Patriots is one of the most successful player in the history of NFL winning five Super bowls. Then there are talent like quarterback Cam Newton (Carolina Panthers) and JJ Watt (Houston Texans) who have received international recognition for their pure athleticism. Hoping the Indian viewers and sports fans will get a hang of this game soon and make this even a big success in India. The 2017 NFL season, the 98th season, will start from September 7, 2017, with the defending Super Bowl LI champion, New England Patriots hosting the Kansas City Chiefs. The season will conclude with Super Bowl LII, the league's championship game, on February 4, 2018, at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

My Bride (A Gothic Poem)

World was emerald when you were breathing Birds crooned with your simple heart beating Winds laughed with your stunning mirth Butterflies mocked flowers with your charisma Life changed when mother earth devour you Pure and beautiful as Rose My heart never responded to your beauty For the first time I fell in love with at your requiem Black dress, black stilettos with black rose looked sublime Black clouds started gathering around Darkness consumed light Storm of death was on its way Wolves started howling to the crescent moon Night was infused with the smell of the dead Pale milky white skin killed me with a single gaze Coffin closed with tears in my eyes One thing I knew I wanted to be with you As your admirer As your Lover As your consort So here I'm again standing in the cemetery To set you free from the undead life To make you mine eternally "Will you be my bride?"
